Federal Way’s street system generally performs well and is improving, with some congestion at key arterial intersections during evening peak hours. The street system in the City is in good repair and meets urban design standards. Recent years have seen substantial improvements to S. 320th Street and Pacific Highway South, with even more improvements continuing over the next couple of years. Transportation impact modeling, associated with new development, will assist the City in identifying with more precision further improvements needed to ensure transportation concurrency as new development projects come on line.
